"He will regard the prayer of the destitute, and will not despise their prayer." Psalm 102:17

Newsletter Issue 2 — Easter 2008

Dear Friend of Agapé Heart,

Please join us in giving glory, praise and honour to God this Easter — the pinnacle season of the Christian calendar.

As we commemorate the death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ, we remember that in giving the greatest love of all, Christ our Saviour brought us forgiveness, reconciliation and victory over sin and death. In His resurrection, we are given new life in Him — Hallelujah!

As we celebrate Christ's supreme loving act and the new life that we have in Him, let us demonstrate His love to those in need. Let us be God's love in action. May our hearts of compassion never be closed to the hungry, desolate and impoverished. We will make a difference in Jesus's name. Help us bring the heart of our Father, the heart of Jesus, to the lost and hurting people of this world. Agape Heart seeks to do just that. We pray that the marvellous light of Christ shines in Amuma this Easter.

We thank God for His blessing and favour. We are delighted to report that Mr Ikenga Ibe's leg has shown tremendous improvement. Ifeanyi Kalu, one of our key workers, reports that Mr Ibe is joyful, now goes to church, and his family are full of praises to God. All glory to God!

Chinemerem Ndu is doing well on the anti-retroviral medication that he has been taking for approximately two months. As you may be aware, Chinemerem, who is just 3 years old, is HIV positive and is being cared for by his elderly grandmother. Please help us to help his poor grandmother. Any amount of donation would be greatly appreciated.

Oluchi Udo is receiving further medical treatment for her condition (swollen limbs). We understand that she is much better, as she now walks around an does domestic chores that she was unable to do before. We would appreciate your prayers for her recovery.

Last month, Agape Heart donated clothing to Amuma, Nigeria, to be distributed to the very poor, and this was very welcome indeed.

We are hoping to organise a large fundraising event in the summer, and details will be provided to all supporters of Agape Heart nearer the time.

Thank you all for your continued support and prayers.

“The LORD bless you and keep you; the LORD make His face shine upon you and be gracious to you; the LORD turn His face toward you and give you peace.” (Numbers 6:24-26)

Happy Easter.

Yours in Jesus

Patricia Newman
